City you live in: Scottsdale

A typical day in my life includes… Alarm clocks, Emails, floor plans, kids’ (math) homework, dad jokes, sports, and snuggles.

I was born… and raised right here in Phoenix.

My favorite thing about Arizona… We salt our margaritas, not our sidewalks.

I’m listening to… Jimmy Eat World, 21 Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers #90sAlterantiveRock.

My family… is loud, crazy, & full of personality. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Charles Barkley. I was raised on Phoenix Suns basketball, and Sir Charles has always been a larger-than-life figure in the Valley.

One thing I cannot live without… is Red Bull. I am constantly on the go, and sometimes I just need that pick-me-up to get through a long afternoon.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… a veterinarian. I’ve always loved animals.

I’m inspired by… nature. The complexity, diversity, and beauty we find in nature are awe-inspiring.

The one person who motivates me is… my wife. She’s my rock star, and I’ll do anything for her.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… instilling in every child a love for reading at a young age.

The perfect day would be… spent with my family at the beach, with a margarita in hand.

My first job was… at the boys and girls club – I was basically Billy Madison playing dodgeball.

My favorite escape… is binge-reading a new book. Brandon Sanderson is my favorite author.

My life…  has been a mixture of challenges and blessings in equal measure. I’ve learned many things along the way, but there are a few things that stand out to me. The first is how important it is to keep everything in perspective so I don’t get distracted and can stay focused on what truly matters. The second is that I need to use my blessings to bless others. The last is that one of the most important decisions I can make is who I surround myself with.

I’m currently working on… my before picture. I foresee a few months a Whole30 in my future.

Always… treat people with respect, even if you don’t think they deserve it.

Never… put pineapple on your pizza.

Favorite Quote… “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.” – Abraham Lincoln

Biggest Dream… having every student in Phoenix go through Teach One to Lead One. Every child should have a positive adult mentor in their life to equip them with the tools they need to be successful and instill in them hope for their future.

My Pet Peeve(s)… is being late.
