A typical day in my life includes… communication, communication, and more communication. If I’m not talking to someone, emailing someone, texting someone, or monitoring social media about CycleBar then I must be in the gym or on a trail. This is my first venture away from the home office and if I’m not connecting people things aren’t getting done. Especially those calls you don’t want to take. And you get one of those daily. Any small business owner will tell you that. But I like being that voice on the other end.
I was born… in Cincinnati. The Queen City. The Nati.
My favorite thing about AZ… it’s the perfect mix of Midwest values and West Coast vibes…just enough of both.
I’m listening to… “How Loud Your Heart Gets” by Lucius, and anything Avett Brothers.
My family… is big. If there aren’t at least 40 people in the room, it must not be a holiday. They say you can’t pick those people, which is fine, because I wouldn’t want to.
If I could have dinner with anyone… my 15-year- old self… I’ve got a lot to tell that kid. But if that went down, I probably wouldn’t be here doing this interview, so I’ll have to get back to you on that one.
One thing I cannot live without… my friends. My best friends are family… and every one of them knows who I’m talking about.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… Maverick from Top Gun.
The person who motivates me… my father. He’s set the bar high. If he’s proud of what I do with my life, that’s about all the approval I need.
My favorite escape… the golf course. More specifically, the driving range.
My Life… has never been this singularly focused on one task as it is right now. Just ask those friends I talked about, or better yet, my high school teachers. Bringing CycleBar to Arizona and
making it the best indoor cycling experience out here has taken over my life. I couldn’t be more excited about being a part of this product in this market at this time. This is going to be much more than a dark room with 50 bikes… there are no limits to what these studios can produce.
I’m currently working on… the last step, and possibly the most important one of building CycleBar. And that’s recruiting the best team of instructors, or CycleStars in our case, in town! We can give our clients the best studio with the best amenities and brilliant marketing, but if your instructor doesn’t meet your expectations or motivate you through your workout, all that goes out the window. We just finished our first round of auditions in McCormick Ranch, and I’d put our first team of instructors up against any studio in NYC or LA.

Biggest dream… take care of people who have taken care of me tenfold.
