A typical day in my life includes… Enjoying meals and conversations with the love of my life (since 1975) + our little Sealyham Terrior ‘Annie’.
I was born… 9/16/60, Elko, NV
My favorite thing about Arizona… Most of my family, and extended family, lives here
I’m listening to… The Bridge satellite radio 70’s and 80’s.
My family… Is nothing short of amazing! My dad set the bar for kindness and giving, while mom is the ultimate champion for all the kids. We are a hard-working, principled family that knows we have been blessed beyond measure. Gratefulness is our family word.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… My wife. I enjoy her every single day. Those eyes never get old.
One thing I cannot live without… Faith drives my daily life and my mission to help families
When I was younger, I wanted to be… An auctioneer for livestock
I’m inspired by… Being witness to the capacity of people with enormous hearts to help
The person/people who motivate(s) me is/are…
- The Lord, who motivates me to be more selfless every day
- My wife who is the hardest working, most passionate giver, I have ever known
- My staff at Family Promise. This is hard and traumatic work they do with grace, love and passion.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
- Re-establish God as our moral compass
- Restore the Family as the bedrock of our society
- Peace
The perfect day would be…
- A great night’s sleep
- Gratitude….Gratitude….Gratitude for everything
- Time with my wife, talking, sharing and appreciating life
- Helping someone else
My first job was… selling chicken manure by the burlap bag out of my parents’ station wagon age about 10.
My favorite escape… attending a well known Musical (Phantom, Les Miserables, etc.)
My life… Has been filled with blessings beyond my wildest imagination.
I’m currently working on… A new Container housing community in Glendale we call Family Promise
Village. The village is designed to be replicated on vacant properties adjacent or connected to religious institutions throughout the Valley. This six unit, single story micro-housing community will be a high-quality yet low cost solution to the Valley’s affordable home crisis for extremely low-income individuals. We are grateful for the support from the BHHS Legacy Foundation and the Arizona Housing Fund to be able to construct these solutions for our communities.
Always… be grateful
Never… Criticize, condemn or complain
Favorite Quote… You can get everything you want out of life by just helping everyone else get what they want out of life…….Zig Ziglar
Biggest Dream… To be a light shining through the darkness of a conflicted world
My Pet Peeve(s)…
- There is no such thing as a ‘free ride’
- Labeling others hurts (we are all family)
- Giving is better than getting
