Cullum Homes Marks 40 Years of Shaping Arizona’s Luxury Living

In a state where design trends, buyer preferences and home values have shifted dramatically over the decades, Cullum Homes has remained a steady name in Arizona luxury homebuilding. Now celebrating 40 years in business, the family-founded firm reflects on a legacy built on craftsmanship, relationships and a carefully guided building experience that has shaped some of the Valley’s most sought-after neighborhoods.

Founded in 1985 by Rod and Kim Cullum as a small, home-based operation with just two employees, the company has grown into one of Arizona’s most respected family-owned design and construction firms. Central to the company’s approach is The Cullum Way, an integrated process that brings architecture, design, construction and home care together as one coordinated team.

Rather than operating in silos, every stage of the homebuilding journey is designed for clarity and collaboration, supported by technology that keeps homeowners closely connected throughout the build. Cullum was among the early adopters of Ressio, a collaborative project management platform that allows clients to track progress, communicate with the team and stay informed in a streamlined, user-friendly way. Leadership of the company now spans generations, with daughter Lindsay Cullum-Colwell and her husband Paul serving as co-presidents alongside the company’s founders.

“Hitting the 40-year mark is incredibly meaningful for our family,” Kim said. “From the beginning, we set out to create a building experience that puts homeowners first, and that approach continues to shape what we do today. Seeing the next generation carry it forward while continuing to raise the bar makes this anniversary especially rewarding.”

Cullum recently closed out several signature neighborhoods, including Village at Mountain Shadows, Paradise Reserve, and Cholla Heights, while also seeing major activity at Ascent at The Phoenician®, including the sale of its highest-priced home to date, a $11,466,089 custom estate. Activity has also been strong at Seven Desert Mountain, where four move-in-ready homes sold over the summer, underscoring demand for thoughtfully designed residences in premier locations.

Buyers can explore a limited collection of fully furnished, move-in-ready homes as well as select homesites for future custom builds. Current opportunities include move-in-ready homes at Ascent at The Phoenician®, Seven Desert Mountain and Ironwood Golf Villas, along with available homesites in key communities, offering flexibility for those who want either immediate occupancy or a fully customized build.

Cullum Homes has three new Signature Neighborhoods in development across the Valley, each planned with the company’s focus on purposeful growth, timeless design and exceptional locations. The firm continues to expand Cullum Care and Renovations, two divisions that extend the relationship beyond the initial build. Cullum Care focuses on ongoing maintenance, warranty support and long-term home care, while Renovations handles full remodels and large-scale transformations.

Community involvement remains a core value, with ongoing support for organizations including Habitat for Humanity Central Phoenix, The Phoenix Theatre Company, The Heart Ball, PANDA and ChildHelp.

“We wouldn’t be here without the confidence our clients placed in us or the people who’ve helped shape Cullum Homes over the past four decades,” Rod Cullum said. “From our employees and trade partners to the community that stands behind us, we’re truly thankful. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and excited for our future.” Learn more at cullumhomes.com.
