Empire Group of Companies, through its luxury urban infill division Aspirant Development and in partnership with Brinkmann Constructors, has officially broken ground on The Osborn, Old Town’s first high-end senior living community.
Offering access to the neighborhood’s renowned dining, retail, and cultural destinations, The Osborn will be a 226-unit, 420,000-square-foot development that provides a full continuum of care, ranging from active adult living to independent and assisted living, as well as Memory Care within a vibrant urban setting.
“Our goal with The Osborn is to create a luxury senior living community that doesn’t feel isolated or institutional, but rather, connected, elevated, and experience-driven,” said Geoffrey Jacobs, managing partner of Aspirant Development. “This project is designed to empower residents to age in place with independence and dignity, while enjoying the lifestyle and walkability of Old Town Scottsdale.”
The Osborn will feature 118 active adult residences, including 74 independent and assisted living units with full kitchens, as well as 34 Memory Care residences. Ground-floor retail and restaurant spaces are planned to connect the property further. A publicly accessible paseo will provide a pedestrian pathway, encouraging residents and neighbors to engage with the space and enjoy the outdoors.
Designed by Gensler in collaboration with Douglas Sydnor Architect & Associates and built by general contractor Brinkmann Constructors, the community reflects modern desert architecture through its use of brick, composite wall panels, metal accents, and glass guardrails. A stepped building form, shaded patios, and a Sonoran Desert-inspired color palette seamlessly integrate the structure with its natural surroundings, maximizing outdoor living space and architectural interest.
Inside, residents will find amenities aimed at promoting connection, creativity, and wellness. These include a theater, chapel, salon, art studio, casual and upscale dining venues, a fitness center, and a rooftop deck with panoramic views. Additional features, such as a secluded activity deck with a pool, BBQs, gathering spaces, and an upper-story indoor-outdoor lounge, underscore the development’s focus on lifestyle and community. Leasing is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026.
“We are very excited to bring our full-service red carpet model for active senior living to The Osborn,” said Rob Leinbach, SVP Growth Initiatives for Cogir Senior Living. “This community is an excellent addition to our best-in-class senior living portfolio in the Valley.”
With its blend of modern design, walkable access, and luxury lifestyle features, The Osborn represents a new era in senior living. Stay tuned for details, and learn more at builtbyempire.com.
