Special Camaro ZL1 Sells for $250k at Barrett Jackson

For those of you who attended the 2011 Barrett Jackson Las Vegas Auto Auction this past week, you probably know about the special 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 that was successfully auctioned off for roughly $250,000.

The 69th ZL1 produced, it will be the only one finished in the custom Carbon Flash Metallic exterior color.  Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, the 2012 Camaro ZL1 delivers 580 horsepower and over 550 pound-feet of torque.  A six-speed manual transmission is standard, as are programmable launch control for achieving glory on the drag-strip, as well as adjustable magnetic shocks for precise handling.

The recipient, whoever he or she is, can pick up their vehicle next spring, and can race down the highway with great satisfaction knowing that proceeds from the sale will be going to the YMCA of Southern Nevada.
