2024 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale: Fab Cars & a Carload of Family Fun

A 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari owned by Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar will lead almost 2,000 collectible vehicles to the stage during Barrett-Jackson ’24 at WestWorld of Scottsdale January 20–28. And, for the first time, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions begins with a live concert when Grammy-winning rock band Foreigner performs on Friday, January 19. The week follows with automotive and family-friendly lifestyle events.

Foreigner brings its marquee résumé to Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale with 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits, sold-out tours and 80-plus million album sales. Hits include “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold AsIce,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way From Home” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is.”

Rock legend Hagar is offering his LaFerrari for sale on Saturday, January 27. One of just 499 units originally produced, Hagar’s hyperhybrid is powered by a 6.3-liter V-12 with an electric motor. Together, the dual powerplant develops 949 horsepower, delivering 0–60 mph in under 3 seconds and reaching 217-plus mph.

“This is undoubtedly my favorite car I’ve ever owned,” says Hagar, former Van Halen frontman and multi-platinum solo artist. “It’s an incredible machine, and I’ve adored it since I took delivery of it in 2015, but the time has come to pass it on to someone else who will hopefully enjoy it as much as I have.”

Led by a docket of world-class cars, Barrett-Jackson is an automotive lifestyle event, offering family activities for everyone.

The opening-night Foreigner concert will be followed by QuikTrip Family Day on Saturday, January 20; children 12 and under are admitted at no charge with a paying adult. STEM Fest presented by Honeywell includes interactive activities from STEM-focused organizations and begins Barrett-Jackson’s Gearing Towards the Future initiative, created with the SciTech Institute. 

The introduction of the 50 contestants in the Barrett-Jackson Cup presented by Castrol is Saturday, January 20, and the Future Collector Car Show (FCCS) at WestWorld of Scottsdale presented by Meguiar’s returns for its second year at Barrett-Jackson Sunday, January 21. The concours-style event celebrates already cherished cars and future collectibles from the 1980s forward. Six days later, Saturday, January 27, the award-winners of the Barrett-Jackson Cup presented by Castrol will be announced. 

Collector vehicles and automobilia begin selling on Monday, January 22, and continue through Sunday, January 28. 

Thrill Ride experience

During the week, attendees can also visit the expansive Exhibitor Marketplace presented by Swisstrax, enjoy a Thrill Ride or off-road driving experience offered by top automotive manufacturers, listen to music performances and try diverse culinary offerings. 

Approximately 300 sponsor and exhibitor displays will be at the Exhibitor Marketplace, which features a wide range of products including art, jewelry, handbags and other luxury items as well as a large range of automotive-related offerings. The Thrill Rides will feature performance cars from Dodge, Toyota and Ford, and off-road vehicles from RAM and Toyota. And, the 2024 food offerings will include Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, Coldstone Creamery, Culinary Gangster, Juicy’s, Little Miss BBQ, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, Macayo’s Mexican, Nekter and Pomo Pizza.

As is the case every year, the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction will feature several vehicles selling for charity, with 100 percent of the hammer price benefitting its specified group. To date, Barrett-Jackson has helped raise more than $154 million for 200-plus charities worldwide.

Adds Jackson, “We look forward to welcoming hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts from all over the world as we once again kick off the event season here in Arizona.”

1967 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible built By Jeff Hayes

A typically diverse Barrett-Jackson docket includes a recent Jeff Hayes’s masterpiece, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Resto-Mod at no reserve, featuring a champagne exterior finish complemented by a linen-colored interior. Finished just a few months ago in October, the custom classic has a 540-horse LS3 V-8 linked to a 4L70E automatic transmission. A resto-mod is a collectible car in which a production model has been “re-created” with an updated engine, transmission, suspension, paint and other elements.

“Today’s custom car builders like Jeff Hayes are some of the greatest artists and craftsman of our time,” says Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Jeff is well known throughout the resto-mod segment of the hobby for the incredible machines he brings to life, and we’re proud to have sold several of his works of art over the years.” 

1963 Chevrolet Corvette

Barrett-Jackson is always a haven for great Chevys. A 1963 Corvette ZO6 Split-window coupe has just received a professional body-off restoration to factory specifications by D&M Corvette Specialists in Downers Grove, Illinois. One of only 199 cars to receive the RPO ZO6 package, this rare car, Sebring Silver over Black, retains the original matching-numbers engine and four-speed. The optional performance package includes the RPO L84 fuel-injected 327/360-horsepower engine, four-speed manual transmission, positraction rear end and heavy-duty shock absorbers and springs. 

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 Convertible

A 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 Convertible, authenticated by marque expert Jerry MacNeish, is a matching-numbers example, with the LS6 454/450-horsepower V-8, Muncie four-speed manual transmission and 12-bolt positraction rear end. “This is the first LS6 Chevelle convertible that I’ve certified with its complete original drivetrain,” MacNeish wrote in his report. 

Captain “Wild” Bill Wichrowski’s custom1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer

And, a custom Hogan Built 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer was restored for Captain “Wild” Bill Wichrowski of the Discovery Channel’s television show, “The Deadliest Catch.” The Medium Olive Blazer is powered by a 500-horse factory 6.2-liter GM LS3 engine equipped with CVF front drive and linked to a Hughes 4L80E transmission and NP205 transfer case. 

A Chiron, Ferraris, Chrysler HEMI, a Ford GT & Some Cashmere

2018 Bugatti Chiron

Bugatti hypercar, a 2018 Bugatti Chiron, features the full exposed carbon fiber option. It is powered by an 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine that uses four turbochargers to make 1,500 horses with 1,180 ft/lbs of torque, generating 0 to 60 mph runs of 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 261 mph. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission routes power to all four wheels. 

2017 Ferrari F12 TDF

Joining the Hagar Ferrari is an F12 TDF, Bianco Fuji with Livrea Nero Stellato stripes over a Nero with Bianco stitched interior; this dancing stallion celebrates the great Tour de France race, which Ferrari dominated in the 1950s and 1960s. A naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V-12 produces 770 horsepower and 520 ft/lbs of torque; the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and tops at 211 mph. 

1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird

From Plymouth, a 1970 HEMI Superbird is one of 135 “birds” produced in 1970 with the 426-cid eight-cylinder. The matching-numbers engine is connected to an upgraded 18-spline A833 HEMI four-speed manual; the rear end was upgraded with a stout 3.54 Dana. The car retains much of its original interior, including the seats, door panels, instrument cluster, dash pad and headliner.

2019 Ford GT

A 2019 Ford GT, with just 35 miles, is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine connected to a seven-speed Getrag dual-clutch automatic. Finished in Shadow Black over a Re-Entry interior, the GT rides on 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels. Optional equipment includes exterior matte carbon fiber, six-point harness anchors, red brake calipers and titanium exhaust.

1957 Lincoln Continental Mark Ii Custom Coupe “Cashmere”

And “Cashmere” is a Resto-Mod 1957 Continental Mark II by the acclaimed Havasu Speed. It’s powered by a Ford 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 with an Edelbrock Victor II EFI manifold. Ron Mangus Interiors designed the all-leather interior, and the owner designed the dashboard.
