Fall Inspiration

I think it is a gross understatement to say that fall is my favorite season of the year. That is of course if it would actually show up, triple digits, even if they are low, do not count as autumn weather Arizona! Anyway just to prove how much I really love this time of year, the other day while in savasana pose (I’m still trying to master the whole “keep your mind from wondering” part of yoga) I started to daydream about fall and it went something like this:

Me in a berry-colored wool Burberry coat, a black cashmere scarf, the perfect indigo skinny jeans, jewel encrusted ballet flats, a slouchy, large, espresso designer handbag, a steaming hot caramel apple cider from Starbucks in my hand walking down an ambiguous street that is in both and yet in neither New York and Paris to a soundtrack of Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble.

A this point you might think I’m a certified crazy person, but when I did remind myself to focus (thank goodness my savasana is 15 minutes) clarity came and I knew I had to write a style post inspired by my strange fall mashup.

1. Wool Coat

At Burberry, $1095

As much as I love the idea a of colored fall/winter coat, camel (we will call this caramel for the sake of my parallel) is timeless, chic, and versatile. This Burberry mid-length wool cashmere trench is, dare I say, the only one you need—over a party dress or a cozy sweater it will take your look to the next level.

2. Cashmere Scarf

At Saks Fifth Aveneue, $995

Yes, yes we all know that I am a minimalist, one that just loves her solid colors, but I thought I would get crazy with this Yves Saint Laurent cashmere leopard print scarf. The edgy blue print makes this a great statement piece to perhaps a head-to-toe black outfit.

3. Skinnies

At Nordstrom, $1150

Let’s exchange those indigo denim skinnies for a sexy pair of leather ones. I’m quite smitten with these Vince stretch leather skinnies in Merlot. They are on pre-order now, so you’ll have them just in time for cooler weather.

4. Ballet Flats

At Bloomingdales, $395

Sometimes your tooties need a break, but that doesn’t mean that your style has to take a break. Check out these Salvatore Gerragamo stunners.

5. Slouchy Handbag

At Marni, $1060

If you can’t find espresso, no worries, an insane bag like this Marni lambskin shoulder bag will work just fine!

I’ll leave you with a little ditty by Mr. Sinatra….

Autumn in New York
Why does it seem so exciting (inviting)
Autumn in New York
It spells the thrill of first-nighting

Shimmering clouds – glimmering crowds (glittering crowds and shimmering clouds)
In canyons of steel
They’re making me feel – I’m home
