Free CrossFit Workout & Event on Sept. 11

It may be hard to believe, but it’s been almost 9 years since the devastating terror attacks on our nation.  September 11 will always be remembered as a day that changed America, but it has now also become a day that Americans stop to honor our dedicated heroes and service men and women. CrossFit Scottsdale is stepping up with a special event to help with some of those big honors.  On September 11, 2010, the innovative exercise and fitness training facility is holding its “Here’s to the Heroes” workout and event. The public is invited to join in on the fun and exercises. Plus, it’s free!

Ladies and gents can work out like and alongside soldiers from Luke Air Force Base, National Guard members, Scottsdale police and firefighters.  There are four free classes held that day: 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

CrossFit Scottsdale owners Luke and Najla Kayyem believe this event is just a simple way to honor those who certainly deserve it.  Najla Kayyem says, “Honoring our local heroes and giving the community the chance to say thank you is just a small way we can give back to those who have given us so much,” adding, “We want to show the larger community how inspiring our smaller CrossFit community can be when it comes to hard work and dedication.”

Space in the special classes is limited, so you are urged to RSVP quickly in order to guarantee a spot by calling 480.922.3253 or by emailing info@CrossFitScottsdale.com.

As a community itself, CrossFit Scottsdale isn’t like your typical gyms.  The facility offers daily support and constant progress reports on fitness program.  Each participant is motivated by personal goals and group motivation.

More on CrossFit: CrossFit is a strength and conditioning training program with exercises executed at high intensity and that are constantly varied. With programs from ages 3 to 83, CrossFit teaches students how to use their body as a machine. They will have you pushing, pulling, running, walking, rowing, jumping and everything in between so they make sure every muscle in your body gets the appropriate level of care. With more than 1600 CrossFit-affiliated gyms worldwide, the program has quickly grown into an international movement.

As a CrossFit affiliate, CrossFit Scottsdale promotes overall fitness with workouts that boost athleticism by increasing endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. Along with plyometrics and Olympic lifts, CrossFit blends pulling, pushing and swinging weight to create a workout regime that continually challenges its members.
