Chef Christine D’Angeli of Slice on Food Network Challenge

The Valley is about to produce yet another Food Network star. Local pastry chef Christine D’Angeli of Slice Cake Design will compete this Sunday, August 30, on the newest Food Network Challenge. And the Challenge happens to be the most out-there category I’ve heard of yet: rice cereal bridges. Yowza! She’ll be making a replica of a French bridge. Though I don’t know the winner of the Challenge, I’m told that Valley viewers will definitely want to tune in and cheer on our hometown cake master.
Here’s a little bit about the Valley’s soon-to-be-famous face: Chef D’Angeli is an award-winning pastry chef with more than 14 years of experience in some of the nation’s best restaurants and hotels. Working at fine properties comes naturally to Chef D’Angeli, as she proudly served at The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix as well as three other Ritz-Carlton properties. Chef D’Angeli served with the acclaimed Jean-Georges Vongerichten (of J&G Steakhouse at The Phoenician) at Hotel Icon. The earlier part of her career was spent training at The Culinary Institute of America. She went on to work with distinguished chefs at The Russian Tea Room, Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, and Trapp Family Lodge. She now currently heads up Slice Cake Designs, which creates gorgeous, custom cakes and cupcakes for weddings, showers, gala events and more.

  1. I love Food Network Challenges. I watched one a while ago where they had to make bridges out of cereal and it was so stressful! I hope she pulls through.
