The walls of the Rusty Spur Saloon may be lined with thousands of signed dollar bills, but this December, the Scottsdale landmark transformed its iconic décor into a meaningful gift. The saloon’s annual tradition of peeling down the cash-covered walls resulted in a generous $7,000 donation to the Phoenix Children’s Foundation, continuing a practice that has grown stronger with each passing year.
The contribution benefits the foundation’s Hope Fund, which supports innovative treatments, advanced equipment, and family-centered care.
“These dollar bills symbolize the memories made here and the potential to make a difference in our community,” Operations Manager Janeth Moore said. This year’s donation surpasses last December’s $6,000 gift, reflecting the generosity of staff and customers who contribute to the longstanding tradition.
Phoenix Children’s Foundation corporate development officer Jordan Olstead expressed gratitude for the ongoing support: “This generosity helps fund critical programs and brings hope and healing to the patients and families we serve,” he said. The Hope Fund supports more than 170 programs dedicated to world-class pediatric care, enabling investments in cutting-edge technology and new clinical initiatives.
