Din Tai Fung to Open at Scottsdale Fashion Square

A new chapter is unfolding at Scottsdale Fashion Square as Din Tai Fung prepares to open its newest Arizona location in April 2026. Designed by the acclaimed Rockwell Group, the 10,000 sq. ft. restaurant blends the brand’s culinary heritage with a refined, contemporary aesthetic inspired by the Sonoran Desert.

Located on the ground floor, the restaurant will welcome guests with a striking curved façade that wraps around the edge of a rotunda. The exterior sets the tone for what awaits inside: an atmosphere that balances warmth, sophistication, and movement. A palette of gold, cream, and warm wood tones creates an inviting backdrop, while layered materials such as stone, glass, metal, and textured finishes add depth.

The design guides guests through the experience, beginning with a grand entry that reveals the brand’s dumpling expo kitchen. Here, diners can watch the precise artistry behind Din Tai Fung’s signature Xiao Long Bao, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship.

The restaurant’s bar area offers a more intimate setting, accessed through an open screen entryway. A coved wooden ceiling, warm amber tile, and lantern-inspired lighting create a sense of comfort and sophistication, while a mirrored back bar and sightlines connect the space to the main dining room.

A dramatic central tree installation anchors the dining room. Surrounding banquettes and layered textures create a balance between openness and intimacy. Lighter wood tones and soft cream wall paneling bring an airy feel, while darker accents and fluted golden velvet seating add richness. Custom lighting and antique-inspired mirrors further enhance the sense of warmth and refinement throughout the space.

The Scottsdale location marks the seventh Din Tai Fung designed by Rockwell Group, joining Portland, Glendale, Bellevue, New York City, Downtown Disney in Anaheim, and Vancouver. The design reflects a continued commitment to consistency, craftsmanship, and storytelling across every location.

“Din Tai Fung has always been about creating memorable experiences rooted in tradition and hospitality,” a representative shared. “With Scottsdale, we set out to elevate that experience through thoughtful design, delivering consistency and excellence across food, service, and ambiance. Our signature dumpling show kitchen immerses guests in a cultural journey from kitchen to table, showcasing the meticulous craft behind each fold. Above all, this space honors our heritage while embracing the beauty and spirit of Arizona.”

Opening date is slated for April 2026. Din Tai Fung Scottsdale is poised to become a new dining destination that blends culinary precision, architectural elegance, and a deep respect for tradition. Learn more at dtf.com.
