Resort Report: Great Escapes

We’re recapping the best stays this past week, beginning with the Valley’s summer golf special at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.

Beginning May 24 through September 2, the resort and golf course invites golfers to “Sip, Savor and Swing into Summertime,” enjoying deluxe accommodations, a $50 nightly resort credit and unlimited golf on TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course, the same greens many golf legends have played. Enjoy the unparalleled PGA TOUR experience, teeing off at the same greens of the fan-favorite Waste Management Phoenix Open. As an added bonus, Junior Golfers (under 15 years of age) can join the family for a round of golf free after 4 p.m. when accompanied by an adult on the famed Stadium Course, while children 5-12 years of age can spend a day at the Trailblazers Family Adventure Center, offering full or half day programs featuring scavenger hunts, photo safaris, canoe races, animal interactions and more.

Summertime Sip, Savor and Swing Includes:

·       Overnight deluxe accommodations at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

·       $50 daily resort credit for one of five on-site dining locations or at Well & Being at Willow Stream Spa

·       Unlimited same-day golf at TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course

Rates begin at $209 per night.

Next, grab your forks and knives and feast your senses on Chef’s Night In, a summer chef series by Miraval Resort and Spa.

Offered for one weekend in June, July and August, the series brings together celebrity chefs like Jody Adams, Brooke Williamson, and Alex Guarnaschelli who give Miraval guests a rare peek at the foods and ingredients that they enjoy using when cooking for themselves and their families on their (rare) nights off.  Through a series of cooking classes, informational lunch sessions, and signature dishes featured on the Miraval Restaurant menu, the chefs’ mindful approaches to cooking will come to life as they share the secrets of the food they enjoy eating to bring their bodies into balance.

And while we’re on the Valley, we want to wish a luxury resort a very happy 25th anniversary! The Phoenician is proud to celebrate 25 years with a special guest package.

Commencing May 30 through September 30, guests can indulge in a number of offers, including:

•           Reserve one night at a special starting rate of $199

•           Get every other night for $25

•           Valid on stays May 30 – September 30, 2013

This is how it works: the first night is pre-paid and non-refundable.  The second night will be adjusted to $25 upon arrival.  The $25 rate is available every other night, regardless of length of stay. Meaning you can stay an extended weekend for less than $500.

If that’s not enough, stay tuned for more events and specials commemorating The Phoenician’s silver anniversary throughout the remainder of the year.

Next, we trek to wild Yosemite and thanks to Redwoods in Yosemite, a vacation rental/wedding/adventure company designed to make your stay at Yosemite National Park the best it can be, we can enjoy most of our stay. Discover the edge of wild America without sacrificing your right to rest easy and enjoy a more luxurious approach to travel.

At Redwoods, guests can revel in the preserved beauty of the nature in one of America’s most beloved national parks, taking in the sights and sounds of colossal rock formations, glistening streams and towering trees. From cozy cottages to mansion size properties, the vacation rentals at Redwoods in Yosemite will never disappoint. Choose to stay in Rosenberg’s Creekside Cabin or the Hummingbird Nest Cabin, equipped with steam showers and whirlpool tub and an outdoor hot tub. Perfect for a girlfriend getaway or a family affair. If you want to go big, check out their mansion size cabins, large enough to sleep up to nine and equipped with a pool table, bbq grills and lounging areas.

Finally, we head to the coast for a new hotel in San Francisco that is expanding its reach. The Inn at the Presidio is the only hotel in the Presidio area, and beginning in July, the hotel will umbrella an extension in the form of a Victorian-style home built in 1889 that once housed U.S. Army officers. The beautifully restored home includes four bedrooms, a common living room, a dining room, and outdoor porch and patio. The Funston House may be rented in its entirety or as individual rooms, with optional in-room massage appointments available.
