Say bon voyage to summer with a seaside-style staycation aboard the S.S. Princess.
From Aug. 29 through Sept. 1, figuratively set sail with the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort for a Labor Day weekend chockfull of activities, buffets and fireworks that’s fun for the whole family.
Once the landlubbers arrive at the valet, the Dream-cation Weekend begins. An on-board photographer will offer complimentary photos with a lifebuoy and digitally-superimposed cruise ship in the background.
Outside at the lagoons, the Fairmont Fun Team will host zip-lining, remote control boats, fishing, watermelon eating contests, underwater bingo, hula hoops, limbo, T-shirt tie-dying and more.
As the sun sets, the Sonoran Splash pool will be transformed into a Techno Glo Party with fog, laser water slides, professional hula hoopers and heart-pounding music by DJ Splash. For a low-key alternative, hit up the Dive-In movies Friday and Saturday nights over at the South Pool that’s always a sure-fire family favorite.
For those star-crossed lovers, couples can renew their vows at The Love Boat with Captain Stubbing, a.k.a. the resort’s Director of Guest Services, Thomas Williams, who is an ordained minister. After the ceremony, couples toast with champagne and are whisked away on a romantic cruise around the resort in a nautically-themed golf cart trailing with tin cans.
As the final farewell to summer, fireworks light up the sky over the TPC Scottsdale at 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1.
