More Than Just a Getaway: Las Ventanas Goes Beyond the Beach

For travelers seeking more than just sun-soaked days and ocean views, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort, is redefining what a luxury escape can feel like. Set where desert landscapes meet the Sea of Cortez, the property leans into culture, craftsmanship, and connection with a collection of immersive experiences that showcase the spirit of Baja California Sur long after the typical vacation moments fade.

The resort’s new Collection of Emotions brings together artists, designers, culinary experts, and wellness practitioners to create experiences rooted in place. More than just activities, the programming encourages guests to engage directly with the traditions, materials, and stories that define the region.

“Throughout the Collection of Emotions at Las Ventanas, we set out to reflect how seasons unfolds in Baja, where light, landscape, and creativity naturally converge,” Managing Director Sébastien Dental said. “From our resident artists to the culinary and wellness experiences, each moment is shaped by place and tradition and designed for guests to engage with the craft in a more personal way.”

Art plays a central role in that vision. Throughout the year, guests can encounter installations and workshops led by some of Mexico’s most compelling creative voices. Local muralist Rodrigo Azanza will transform La Cava wine cellar into a living artwork using ancestral fresco techniques and earth pigments sourced from Baja Sur’s desert landscapes. Alongside him, ceramic artist Coty Childers invites visitors into hands-on workshops exploring clay work and creative process.

Design lovers will also find inspiration through the residency with Mexico City-based studio Lørdag & Søndag, led by Salvador and Enzo Compañ. Known for handcrafted pieces that blend modern aesthetics with traditional materials like volcanic stone, wood, and textiles, the installations become part of the resort.

Guided sunset walks offer an opportunity to learn about the materials, techniques, and stories behind the pieces, while textile artist Daniela Chiñas introduces visitors to Mixteco weaving traditions through workshops where participants create their own fans or baskets.

Food and wellness are equally woven into the destination’s cultural storytelling. One offering is the Mezcal Four Hands Spa Ritual, inspired by healing traditions from Oaxaca. The experience reimagines mezcal a medicinal element, incorporating citrus-infused oils, synchronized massage techniques, and assisted stretching to create a restorative treatment grounded in Mexican wellness practices.

For travelers looking to slow down and savor their surroundings, the resort’s experiences extend outdoors. A bespoke picnic on the beach transforms the Sea of Cortez shoreline into an intimate setting layered with woven textures, lanterns, champagne, and locally sourced bites from Baja Sur farms.

The Stargazing Dinner turns the night sky into part of the menu itself, pairing a multi-course meal on the sand with telescope-guided constellation viewing and desserts inspired by the celestial landscape overhead.

While Los Cabos has long been known for luxury travel, Las Ventanas al Paraíso is making a case for something deeper: experiences that feel connected to the region, its people, and its traditions. Learn more at rosewoodhotels.com.
