AZF: What is your “life motto”?
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path for you?
I’ve always aspired to do more throughout life. When I was seven, I started my own leather saddle cleaning business. Having grown up on a ranch, I felt confident that I could offer a service people would use. I honestly thought I was going to go into Broadcast Journalism, as that is what I went to college for, but I did a hard pivot to become a yoga teacher instead. Fast forward 20 years I now co-own five Hydrate IVBar spas.
My yoga path helped foster some of the partnerships that exist today. My business partners, Mary & Stephen Butterfield, have been long-time friends and students of mine, and our Medical Director, Dr. Steven Sorr, and I did our Yoga Teacher Training together in 2007. Having these solid relationships gave us all the vote of confidence going into business together.
In 2021, we joined forces with Hydrate IV Bar of Denver to expand to the desert. We opened our first location in Arcadia and have gone on to open four more in Scottsdale, Flagstaff, Chandler & Glendale. When the opportunities present themselves, and you have the right people in place, anything is possible.
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
I feel best supported by our amazing team, who show up with the best attitudes. It really makes it all worth it at the end of the day when you love working with people who have become like family over the last five years. When you own a business, your people are everything!
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
I try to see challenges or setbacks as blessings in disguise. Of course, in the heat of the moment, it may be hard to remember that, but when you do, it helps bring clarity to the situation. I am motivated by a passion for what we do, which helps make the hard moments easier to navigate.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
Taking a sunrise hike with my pup Bruce and then coming home and enjoying a delicious cup of coffee in my backyard while journaling and setting goals for the week ahead.
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
Find your tribe. Surround yourself by those who will inspire you and motivate you to level up. Remember to show yourself some love from time to time, as it’s easy to put yourself last. When you are aligned in your authenticity, everything flows.
AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
It feels good to be a part of a growing industry. I am passionate about what we do, and that excites me. I love creating a space for others to thrive, whether that’s our team benefitting from a positive environment or our clients receiving quality services and enjoying their experience. I thrive when those around me thrive.
