A typical day in my life includes…
my toddler is a very early wake up call for me so definitely starts with her and COFFEE, lots and lots of coffee. I teach almost every day whether that’s group classes or private appointments so I spend a lot of time at the studio. I try very hard to find space in my day to take an hour to myself but it’s definitely something I am working on prioritizing.

I was born…
in Virginia. My dad was in the military so we were kind of all over the place and eventually settled near Seattle.

My favorite thing about Arizona…
THE FOOD. I don’t know why Arizona doesn’t get more credit for their food scene. We have been so impressed with all the amazing bars and restaurants.

I’m listening to…
everything! I am always on Spotify making playlists for my classes. I definitely like to keep it upbeat for my group Pilates classes and more laid back for my private appointments. I have hundreds of playlists on my Spotify (@jackielparks) but I try to keep it pretty current in classes.

My family…
I have a 2 year old daughter, Waylon, who is such a little spitfire. She keeps my husband and I really busy! My husband, Jason, is a Director for the Diamondbacks so our life kind of revolves around baseball but we love it. We like to keep it pretty low key and spend a lot of time at home cooking, watching the same movies over and over again (shout out to Coco) and hanging out together when we can.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
since we are talking about Pilates I would love to have a conversation with the man himself, Joseph Pilates. The industry is changing a lot and I would be so curious about his perspective on all of that. He was so innovative that I think he would have grown and evolved but it would be great to hear all that from his point of view.

One thing I cannot live without…
coffee! Have I mentioned coffee yet?

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a news anchor. That didn’t really pan out but I get to use a mic and deliver information so I wasn’t too far off my original goal.

I’m inspired by…
my clients. So often they come in with aches, pains and ailments and I get to watch them work through it physically, mentally and emotionally. I have been lucky enough to stay injury-free but I can’t imagine how much motivation it would take to get here and work on it. It definitely makes me want to be a better teacher.

The one person who motivates me is…
my daughter. It is a little challenging trying to give her 100% while focusing on my career but I want her to see that example. I want her to know that you can do something you love and also be successful.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
can we all just get along? Wishful thinking, but we can definitely do it better. Be nice humans.

The perfect day would be…
I’m in a phase of my life where I just want to sleep in. It’s so simple but sounds so amazing. Sleep in, be near the ocean and have an amazing dinner with my husband. So vacation basically, ha.

My first job was…
a dishwasher at a retirement home.

My favorite escape…
Cabo with my family.

My life…
is finally starting to feel like my own. I think you go through your 20’s shedding a lot of thoughts and ideas about what being an adult is. As a woman, you have even more work to do when it comes to figuring those things out. I spent a lot of time early on figuring out exactly what I don’t want to do. I feel like for the first time in my career I am starting to define what I do want for myself and that’s a really exciting place to be.

I’m currently working on…
I just finished a comprehensive Pilates training a couple months ago so I have some big tests coming up. I am definitely in a planning stage and starting to dream up the next few years of my life. It feels good to know I’m in the right spot finally and be able to build on that.

Always…
make time for yourself.

Never…
skip dessert!

Favorite Quote…
“If you are moved by the work that you do, then success is just an afterthought” – Gabby Bernstein.

Biggest Dream…
right now my dream is my own space, my own equipment and just doing my thing. I have been so blessed to learn from amazing teachers and entrepreneurs and I feel very ready to make them proud!

My Pet Peeve(s)…
the notion “pilates is for girls”.
