Mondays call for coffee in the morning and wine at night, just like the other six days of the week. And this coming Monday happens to celebrate one of those tasty necessities. On May 25, polish your nicest glasses and pour yourself some vino because it’s National Wine Day. Stock up on your favorite red or white and ready yourself to drink in true American fashion. According to The Wine Institute, the United States has been the largest wine-consuming nation in the world since 2010. In fact, in 2014, the U.S. received 375 million 9-liter cases of wine from all production sources (California, other states, and foreign producers). And it’s only right we cheers to the 892 million gallons of wine we consumed in 2013 as a nation. Talk about a slight buzz.

With so much wine flowing through our country, it only makes sense to see more and more wine bars popping up, especially in Scottsdale. One in particular seems to be all over the Valley except Scottsdale, until now. The popular Postino WineCafe has announced its plan for two new locations later this year. Central Scottsdale can expect to see the new Postino pop up in October at Scottsdale Rd. and Highland (just south of Chaparral), and the Kierland Commons location is tentatively planned for November. With locations already in Arcadia, Tempe, Phoenix, and Gilbert, we think this is their best idea yet. What better way to prep yourself before hitting the clubs, or wind down after a day of shopping? Postino’s knows what they’re doing, and come winter, now you do too. In the meantime, grab that pinot grigio and toast to better things to come, like finishing that bottle.
