Kobalt at Park Central: Karaoke, Cocktails, and the 4Some Revue

Ever since opening in 2006, Kobalt is not just a “bar” but one of the top destinations for residents and tourists in the Valley. Located off Central Avenue, just a few short minutes from Downtown Phoenix, individuals from every community can come and enjoy the trendy yet chill ambiance that is Kobalt.

Regardless of the day, there is always something happening at Kobalt. For those who love karaoke, the Saturday and Sunday karaoke nights are far from basic. No longer are individuals standing in the middle of the bar staring at a small screen. The production value is simply the best here in the Valley, with one of the largest stages for anyone to strut their stuff. Plus, television screens indoor and out on the patio allow everyone to view the stage from all angles.

But, if you are like me and singing in front of a crowd makes you want to crap your pants. There are trivia nights, comedy nights, Drag bingo, and Thursday show tunes!

Oh, and did I mention the all-day “Happy Hours” on Sundays and Wednesdays from open to 7 pm? Plus, Kobalt has Happy Hour from 4 – 8 pm on Friday nights. No longer should you rush out of work to enjoy a craft beer or cocktail before 6 pm, like most bars throughout Phoenix.

Here is a complete list of all the entertainment attractions Kobalt has to offer:

Monday: Drag Bingo with Olivia Gardens 8:00 pm

Tuesday: Trivia Night at 7 pm

Wednesday: All Day Happy Hour to 7 pm, Comedy Night every 1st and 3rd Wed. of the month

Thursday: Show tunes all night.

Friday: Happy Hour* All Day from 4 pm-8 pm
• 4Some Drag Revue 10 pm

Saturday: Karaoke at 8 pm

Sunday: Sunday Funday All Day Happy hour to 7 pm
• Karaoke 8 pm

The 4Some Revue

Now, the pièce de résistance of Kobalts’ events is on Friday nights. The 4Some Revue is one of the hottest drag shows in all of Arizona. The lights and production value are BY FAR more elevated than other venues.

The show has a few set performers, like our very own “Best of Our Valley” winner Toothpick, but the Drag talent is ever-rotating at Kobalt. For fans of Rupaul’s Drag Race, Phoenix’s very own contestant, Joey Jay, from Season 13 calls Kobalt home.

Catch some of the newest and most famous drag performers in town at one of the best venues for drag in the Valley.

I’ve been to many drag shows in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Denver, and even overseas. When I say I’ve yet to experience a Drag show with this level of production value at a bar, I mean it. It is just such an open, fun, and accepting ambiance that EVERYONE can enjoy.

But, make sure you make a reservation! Kobalt takes COVID-19 protocols incredibly seriously and only allows reserved tabletops from two to six guests to experience the show. They sell out weekly, so make sure to reserve seats early.

The biggest thing I want to emphasize, though, is that Kobalt is not just a “Drag” or “LGBTQIA+” bar. The owners have always stressed that EVERYONE is accepted and welcomed in their walls. Whether it is for the karaoke lovers, Drag performance enthusiasts, or anyone wanting to enjoy an all-day Happy Hour, Kobalt has something for everybody.

Bring your girlfriends, boyfriends, and anyone in between to the one-of-a-kind entertainment venue that is Kobalt!
