Country Trio Makes Nice and Announces 2016 Tour

Emily Robison, Natalie Maines and Martie Maguire (aka The Dixie Chicks) are the subjects of Barbara Kopple and Cecilia Peck’s documentary SHUT UP and SING.

Big news has been announced on the country music front. The popular and bold trio Dixie Chicks have announced that their first American headlining tour will take place in 2016. The tour is their first headlining tour in America in almost a decade and will be their largest one since their tour in 2006, which was also the same year of their last album, Taking the Long Way, which took the Grammys by storm. The album won a Grammy for album of the year and “Not Ready to Make Nice,” the lead single off the album, won a Grammy for song and record of the year. While the three have kept musically busy in the past decade, both together and separately, this tour will mark an exciting new adventure for the group. The DCX MMXVI World Tour will hit 40 different cities after taking its European journey starting in April. Kicking off in Cincinnati on June 1, the three country ladies will make their way across the country before ending in Los Angeles on October 10.

Listen below to the Grammy-winning single “Not Ready to Make Nice” and get ready for July 17 when the Dixie Chicks will take the stage at Ak-Chin Pavilion. Tickets are available to purchase here starting Monday, November 23 at 10 a.m.
