Downtown Phoenix’s newest venue dedicated to acoustic concerts, The Listening Room, is hosting Adam Smith and Melody Guy for an acoustic concert as they kick off their west coast tour.

Phoenix local, Adam Smith (who also happens to be co-founder of The Listening Room) was raised in Southeast Kentucky and is known for his mix of mountain music and contemporary folk and is currently working on his fourth self-produced studio album. Joining him on the stage is Melody Guy, a songwriter and performer currently living in Nashville whose songs about love, loss and independence are highlighted by her soulful sound and sense of humor. Guy has shared the stage with big names like Keith Urban, The Avett Brothers, Leon Russel and Tanya Tucker.

The two will take the stage at The Listening Room, a venue designed specifically for acoustic music with sound provided by Bose Professional. Acoustically balanced and technically sound, the 50-seat venue provides performers and guests an intimate experience as each show is recorded before the studio audience. Guy and Smith will perform both solo and as a duo.

The concert will be held on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. with a suggested donation of $20 per person.
