This July 4, the dazzling Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is celebrating our country’s independence with its 6th annual “4th of July Freedom Fest,” a weekend-long event filled with entertainment, live music, military tributes, vintage air shows, special deals and more. In honor of the Fourth, we’ve listed our top 4 reasons to include them in your holiday plans!

1. Air Shows: A unique standout feature of the Fairmont’s celebrations are the two air shows that take place. Twenty-eight vintage military aircraft that flew in WWII, Korea and Vietnam will be flown by retired veterans and soar over the North Scottsdale resort. Military parachutists will top off the show as they float to the ground with flags in hand. Guests will be provided with miniature flags and kid campers will get the chance to meet with veterans at the Trailblazers Kids Club.

2. Concerts & Fireworks: All weekend long, the resort will host live music and tribute concerts with firework intermissions. Guests of the resort and those dining at La Hacienda, Bourbon Steak, Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar or Ironwood American Kitchen can enjoy the concerts and fireworks, complimentary.

3. Poolside Fun: Sunset Beach, the resort’s newest and largest pool will be the place to be during the hot daytime hours. The 7,000-square-foot pool has 830 tons of soft, chilled white sand, splash pad, glamorous cabanas and the new Mermaid University and Swashbuckler Academy for younger guests. The Sonoran Splash pool complex will have water rides, slides, games and music. Red, white and blue frozen drinks and watermelon eating contests will also take place for hungry contestants. At night, the complex will transform into the Techno Glo Party After Dark, a fun glow-in-the-dark party.

4. Resort Deals: During the Freedom Fest, a percentage of proceeds from all vacation packages will benefit Friends of Freedom, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting veterans, active duty service members and their families. Military families may book a special 25 percent off best available room rate that weekend. The popular Sip, Savor and Sand Package includes a $50 daily resort credit and during the Freedom Fest, the package starts from:

  • $179 per night for a three-night stay
  • $199 per night for a two-night stay
  • $229 per night for a one-night stay
