Summer is staring me square in the face and there’s still some things to add to this season’s wardrobe I haven’t snapped up yet. And just like any season, I’ll probably fall short by a few. But in case you’re looking to complete your 2009 summer must-haves list, here’s what I’d be snapping up this season:
I know, I’ve been met with mixed reviews from some of you about cutoff shorts, but they’re still right on trend and still super cute. I probably won’t end up snapping up a pair, only because I can’t pull it off right now. But if I could it’s definitely a trend I’d be rocking. Pair with a cute tank, t-shirt, sandals or wedges. These gray Siwy cutoffs from Intermix are quite cute. $155. Intermix.
I do have a few maxi dresses but this definitely makes my list of summer 2009 must-haves because I’d like on (or a few) in some summer colors. A bright color or fun print is super summery and I really love how comortable and easy an outfit it is. This T-bags halter jersey maxi dress is a bit dressier than others but I really like the back cutout. You could still dress it down with some sandals but the option of dressing it up with jewelry is nice. $225. Net-a-porter.
I mentioned yesterday how much I love ankle-wrap sandals and it’s still a trend I’m totally obsessing over. This is something I probably will end up owning before the end of the season. They’re great to wear with shorts and summer dresses. These Giuseppe Zanottie suede-wrap sandals are just darling. $925. Net-a-Porter.
I already spent way more than I needed to on a new bikini that I have yet to wear. But if you haven’t, it’s definitely something fun to spring on each summer season. Especially if you’re getting out of town for a few days and need a few different suits for each day of your trip. This Victoria’s Secret print bikini is just $22 for the top and $15 for the bottom.
I’m a little surprised by how little I’ve seen girls embracing this trend around town. It’s another one that I probably won’t do, but I do like what I’ve seen on the models thus far. There’s no bigger statement to make that summer is here than a fresh pair of white jeans. These Blank white skinnies have zippers on the sides and are just $88 from Intermix.
