Color Trend-Going Green

I don’t know if it is the impending spring season, this season’s jewel tone-trend, or the influence of next year’s pre-fall collections, but green appears to be the newest “it” color. And we are not talking the neon greens of last summer, but gorgeous emerald, hunter, and pine.

This color trend can truly be worn by anyone—not as bold as the recent red trend and quite shockingly versatile.

Dolce & Gabbana have designed the coolest of lambskin leather jackets with this emerald green zip pocket beauty. Modern and edgy you can wear it with a ladylike floral skirt, as seen here, or your favorite skinny jeans and most rocking boots. I’m going to suggest this as a must-have.

I kind of have a feeling that every single one of these green pieces is going to be “my favorite,” but I mean how amazing are these suede Miu Miu pumps? The designers appropriately call this color Spearmint—a refreshing pop of color for a fairly neutral outfit.

I’m going to amend the statement I made about sequins becoming entirely too trendy, if they are green then it is entirely okay. Sequins will be the trend to wear this New Year’s Eve (I can’t tell you how many “perfect” black sequin dresses I’ve already seen), but you are guaranteed to be the bell of the sequin ball in this Haute Hippie forest green, one shoulder number.

Green gems are another way to get in on this green trend and Stephen Dweck seems to be the King of green with this large agate cocktail ring and gold and agate cuff. I think they would look fabulous in addition to a breezy bohemian look.

When you hear “moss green” the first words that come to mind are probably not, chic, fabulous, designer, but this Ralph Lauren, moss green, velvet clutch are all of these. Pair with your LBD, or get crazy with clashing colors and color blocking!

For a casual and yummy take on this trend run out and purchase this avocado green, Vince string knit sweater. The chunky knit will keep you on trend for the winter season as well. Experiment with different textures and pair with corduroy pants or a silk scarf.

Looking forward to warmer months there are some amazing green bathing suits to be had. These will surely get you motivated to start working toward the beach-bod, or if you’re like me, maybe a fun, green, animal print cover-up.
