Best Dressed Sag Awards

Doesn’t it seem like just yesterday that we were waxing poetically about the Golden Globes? I certainly feel like I was just putting the mani to the keyboard about all of the best, worst and in between on the red carpet.

This time it’s all about the Screen Actors Guild Awards which took place on Sunday evening. Of course this awards show might not have the clout that the Globes or the Oscars do but it’s definitely high up there for the celebs themselves as winning “the Actor” always lends a tad more clout to their resume’.

Of course in my case, I generally arrive (in front of the tv that is) for the red carpet and stay for the show… One reader last time questioned as to whether I had a disliking for prints after Leighton Meester, Heidi Klum and Helena Bohnam Carter all landed on my “worst” list. So this time I was more than happy to see a few celebs do prints the right way.

Once again I thought Mila Kunis looked pretty darn flawless in a red print Alexander McQueen gown and Cartier jewels. Her makeup was also exquisite and looked effortless with her cascading curls.

Another celeb embracing the print trend was Claire Danes. Ms Danes has stepped out in very feminine bright shades lately so this Louis Vuitton number paired with Fred Leighton jewels was an unexpected departure.

Jennifer Lawrence star of Winters Bone wore a standout hot pink draped gown by Oscar de la Renta. I loved the color and even though I don’t generally like black and pink this combo was pretty stunning.

Sofia Vergara the always sassy and sexy Modern Family star showed off her curves in a bright cobalt blue Roberto Cavalli gown with plunging gown and Chopard jewels. To me this was on par with the red Vera Wang she wore at the Golden globes… but again is there anything that can make this woman look bad?

Leah Michelle the Glee star looked sleek in a plunging Oscar de la Renta metallic gown with a waist cinching belt that lent a modern spin. A far improvement over the stiff looking pink Oscar de la Renta dress she wore at the Golden globes… she is far too young and pretty to wear anything matronly.

Amy Adams looked smashing in a white, ruched Herve Leroux column gown complete with a slicked-back ponytail and Kimberly McDonald jewels.

And I just have to give a mention to Angie Harmon and Rosario Dawson for looking pretty flawless from head to toe with gorgeous makeup, hair and perfect fitting dresses.
