Blanco Tacos + Tequila

Sam Fox is at it again. Last night, I got to try out some serious deliciousness at his latest venture, Blanco Tacos + Tequila at The Borgata (where Taneko Tavern used to reside). My hopes were high (there is a Tucson location and my former Wildcat co-worker is a big fan) and my expectations were exceeded. First off, I loved the almost beachlike interiors, splashed with blue seat cushions, light wood floors and a really cool industrial-meets-cottage white ceiling.

The delectable rojo sangria made me curse the fact that I decided to be designated driver and, while the fish tacos and green chili pork enchiladas were delicious, it was the accompanying black beans and rice that were the scene stealers–seriously tasty.

However, as a bit of a guacoisseur, I was completely taken with Blanco’s guacamole and thick, warm tortilla chips. I would happily make a meal out of this alone–so if you see a brunette hoarding chips and guac in a corner booth, come say hello. Blanco opens Monday. www.foxrc.com.
