A typical day in my life includes… waking up early so that I can try to get an hour of me time in before my daughter wakes and the rest of my day has to really start. My mornings are usually rushed with trying to get my little one fed, showered, dressed, lunch making, and then me taking her to school. Usually, after I drop off my little one at school, I hit the gym and take one of my favorite workout classes. And then from there it is time to get ready for the day. I work out of my home studio and we all know there are perks to working at home and there are downfalls to working at home, such as the many distractions: house duties, barking dogs (I have a small zoo, I have 4 dogs), a screaming & always hungry toddler (after she comes home from school). So, at times it can be very challenging to keep my focus. But somehow or another it all gets done.

The rest of my day is filled with answering emails, doing follow-ups, social media posts, editing pictures for marketing material, speaking to my California sewing contractors, and scheduling upcoming shoots & events that I may be invited to. And then in the late afternoon I start my wifey duties, such as cooking, taking care of family, ect… Obviously these things can all change based on the time of the season and what unexpected opportunities/challenges might pop-up.

I was born… in Albuquerque, New Mexico

My favorite thing about Arizona… I would say my favorite thing about Arizona is the beautiful weather, the natural beauty it has, and that there are so many things to do here. I love to experience new things and I think AZ offers that with the diversity of people and cultures.

I’m listening to… this is a tough question because I listen to so many different artists it just matters on my mood that day.

One thing I cannot live without… oh man, just one thing? I guess one thing that I cannot live without is ChapStick, I probably have a thousand ChapSticks around my house and in my purses but I never can find one when I need it. I have this thing about my lips being properly moisturized at all times. I hate the feeling of dry mouth/lips.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… Funny thing is when I was like 5 years old I used to tell my mom that I wanted to work in the Candy Isle at Circle K, but only in the Candy Isle. Too Funny!!! But when I graduated high school my hopes and aspirations were to be an Architect. I did end up doing my undergrad in Architecture at ASU, but it never went past there. And now, I am a Fashion Designer.

I’m inspired by… I am inspired by so many things in life such as a feeling, a mood, a story I want to tell, my environment, nature, music… there are so many things to be inspired by it can be quite endless. But what I have recently been inspired by is telling this almost sequel kind of story, were I only tell tad bits in each collection which are all part of this big story. The only thing is that I don’t know what that “Big Story” is. It’s kind of like chapters in a book being written without knowing the ending yet. When I design, it is like me writing a new part to that chapter of the book and I find out more & more myself through each collection. Another thing I like to take into perspective is that I get inspired when I inspire others. I love to see that with my vision and passion that others can find their vision and passion. It is quite amazing to be able to do that and have an impact on those around you.

The one person who motivates me is… I would have to say that my daughter Braxtyn Ann Lynch. She is one of the best things that has happened to me. She is my everything, we are buddies. You know being a stay at home mom and building my brand all at the same time wasn’t an easy task at all, but it has been a pretty amazing adventure so far and I am so happy that I got to do it all awhile raising my daughter at home. She is just one of the smartest, coolest little people I know.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… This is a tough question; I don’t know how to answer this one.

The perfect day would be…  be all my mama, and wifey duties be done and complete, have a great day of online sales, get picked up by a few boutiques, and be able to play with my little one without any distractions. I think that would be amazing.

My first job was… wow, this is an embarrassing question. Well my first real job that I got outside of my family paying me to do oddball jobs would be my job at Taco Bell. Oh man! I can’t believe I am telling you this. But I started when I was like 15 and worked there until I was like 20 or something like that.

My favorite escape…  is when I can take a sketch book and some headphones and go sit somewhere outside all by myself and let my mind go. I put on those headphones nice and loud playing The Piano Guys’ rendition of Beethoven Moonlight Sonata Mov 1 and just draw or write what I am feeling. I feel like the music takes my mind on a creative rollercoaster.

My life… has really panned out to be something pretty cool! I mean how many people are able to discover and go after what your true dreams and passion are? Not many. And I am so thankful that I have been able to do what I have done so far. I know that there is still a long road ahead but I am super stoked about that road. I love that I don’t know what is next, all I know is that I have to continue the common denominator which is work hard with your dream/passion in focus at all times and continue to work towards that. I have a beautiful daughter, a caring husband, a loving family, and many great friends that are new and old.

I’m currently working on… continuing to build my brand, Hues of Ego, to be seen in more local boutiques and growing the brand’s recognition. I am also working on the concept of my new collection. I am still in the design process but I think it is going to be pretty strong. I am super excited to see it all come to fruition.

Always… be kind to everyone you come in contact with because you never know when you will see that person again and if they may or may not have an influence on you and/or your brand.

Never… take things for granted or what people do for you for granted. If someone takes time out of their day to give you just a millisecond, than that is worth something. Never minimize anything.

Favorite Quote… “You have to go whole heartedly into anything in order to achieve anything worth having” –Frank Lloyd Wright

Biggest Dream… to find that “Epic Dream”. I don’t know what it is as of yet, but I feel like I am on the path to finding it.

My Pet Peeve(s)…  are when people don’t pay attention to detail, when your work or something you do is not taken into consideration which usually turns into something getting ruined. Having a messy bed, I have to have my bed made as soon as I get out of the bed in the morning. Rude people, Oh geez!!! I don’t know, I have a few but I can’t think of them at this time.
