Mike Lindstrom: Little League Umpire to Global Consultant

We began 20 sentences that each person finished in their own words. Here’s what Motivator and Performance Consultant, Mike Lindstrom, had to say about family, old school Run DMC and everything in between.

Age: 39
Title: Author, Performance Consultant & Professional Speaker
Married to Monica Lindstrom
Kids: Rhett (4) and Colt (1)
Lives: Scottsdale, AZ

I was born…

in Modesto, CA as a breach baby. Ouch, just ask my Mom.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the relaxed culture, sunny days when its snowing everywhere in the US and the month of March (Spring Training, golf and relaxing by the pool).

I’m listening to…

every type of music. From Fun to Vampire Weekend to Metallica to Kid Rock to old school Run DMC to Frank Sinatra.

My family…

is my “WHY” and my fuel in life and they are what drive me everyday to reach higher and to keep asking myself why not.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Martin Luther King, Mick Jagger, Socrates and Madonna all at the same table.

One thing I cannot live without…

beside my family, it would be my Google calendar and my cell phone.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a sports agent.

I’m inspired by…

watching my two sons live everyday curiously without fear and always asking me “Why.” I love when everyday people just go for it in life and accomplish big things.

The one person who motivates me is…

my wife, Monica.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

for every human being to live comfortably until 100 years old.

The perfect day would be…

to wake up as a family in the same bed after sleeping in. A nice brunch poolside with the family. Take an afternoon nap followed by a chill night with my wife at Morton’s Steakhouse over some wine. Then come home with my wife and we’ll just leave the rest to
the imagination.

My first job was…

a little league umpire in high school.

My favorite escape…

Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.

My life…

is just warming up.

I’m currently working on…

developing new reality TV shows with our partners, Executive Producer Ellen Rakieten and Relativity Real.

Always…

have your goals written down and near you at all times, tell your kids you love them before you leave the house, put the toilet seat back down, give meaning to life’s events that will empower you in some way.

Never…

allow jealousy or anger run your life and never make big decisions when in a place of scarcity.

My Favorite Quote is…

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.”
-Olympic Runner, Steve Prefontaine.

My Biggest Dream is…

to have a life for my family whereby we are able to do what we want, when we want, wherever we want without ANY fear, worry or concern about financial limitations.

My Pet Peeve(s)….

When someone treats another human being with utter disrespect, talks down at others or acts like the world revolves around them. Also, people who accept mediocrity and those who want to tear others down especially while hiding behind FaceBook, blogs, Twitter and chat rooms using fake names. If you have something to say or criticize, have the chutzpah to put your name on it.
