4 Early Holiday Gift Ideas

We have barely finished Halloween and suddenly my inbox is full with all sorts of Christmas deals. In fact my lovely assistant Ellen an I were just discussing how ebay and other sites put banners up on their sites stating how many days until Christmas, which in turn instills a sense of urgency that we may be missing out on something incredible and amazing….. but really, when I think if it, it’s nothing that a Starbucks holiday beverage can’t cure.

Back in the days when I would send out over two hundred holiday cards to friends, colleagues and the like I always made it a point to get my major shopping done prior to Thanksgiving, this way December was reserved for addressing cards, wrapping gifts and enjoying friends and family. Then I opened a business and suddenly most of my gifts became related to the goods that I sold… but this year, I am finding myself feeling a bit thrown off by the entire rushed craziness that retailers want us to buy into.

Of course this has me thinking, what will I be getting for everyone? If you are already wondering the same here are a few things that I have my eye on.

For my (not underage) niece who absolutely loves any makeup, skin care or any beauty item that I pick out for her that contains shimmer… Urban Decay Sparkling Body Powders smell divine and come in super yummy flavors like Cocoa, Marshmallow and Honey. Did I mention they are also lickable in you are so inclined?

And for my brothers who being of Mediterranean descent seem to grow facial hair at a warp speed rate Sharps Barber Brigade 4 piece kit contains everything they need in a cool zippered bag to keep their whiskers at bay. Available at Target

For my Mom whose coat closet looks more like a museum than a modern stash of outwear, this cream colored peacoat will go with everything in her wardrobe and look smart and sophisticated for not a lot of dough.

I also love to have some small last minute gifts for hostess appreciation and just in case anyone surprises me with their own tokens of appreciation. Philosophy’s Peppermint Bark Holiday Ornament is an ingenious idea. This 2 oz chocolate peppermint scented bubble bath/ shower gel/ shampoo comes in a hanging box perfect for putting on the tree and best of all… it’s only $6.00. Of course if you are feeling a tad more generous, the large size is only $18 and spreads even more joy!
