Goodyear’s GSQ to Welcome New Retailers in 2026

The vibrant future of Goodyear’s downtown district is coming into sharper focus as RED Development and Globe Corporation announce the latest additions to GSQ, the city’s 150-acre mixed-use destination. Among the most anticipated new arrivals is Trader Joe’s, which will open its first Goodyear location at GSQ in 2026.

The popular national grocer, known for its neighborhood feel, quirky culture, and signature products, will occupy a 13,500-square-foot space at the heart of the development. For Goodyear residents, the news marks the fulfillment of a long-standing request.

“This really is a dream come true for so many of our residents who’ve been asking for this unique grocer for many, many years,” said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “It’ll be located in the heart of our growing downtown and will be the perfect addition. This announcement of Trader Joe’s is a testament to where we are going as a city and that the most sought-after businesses are choosing to locate in Goodyear.”

Chris Warren, store captain of the upcoming Trader Joe’s location, shared his excitement. “I’m thrilled to lead the opening of Trader Joe’s in Goodyear and to become part of a community that has shown such enthusiastic support,” he said.

Joining Trader Joe’s in the expansion are two additional names set to enhance GSQ’s culinary offerings: Black Rock Coffee Bar and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. Together, the new tenants reflect GSQ’s vision as a dynamic mix of retail, dining, and lifestyle experiences.

GSQ is being designed as a modern cultural and commercial hub, seamlessly integrated with the recently completed Goodyear Civic Square. The development includes a new city hall, a two-story library, a two-acre community park, and public office space.

When completed, GSQ will feature a mix of high-end and fast-casual restaurants with spacious patios, specialty retail, multi-family housing, hotel accommodations, and modern office buildings. For more information, visit goodyearaz.gov, reddevelopment.com, or globecor.com.
