Architects Go to the Dogs for a Good Cause at 2026 Design for Dogs

Creativity meets compassion as designers quite literally head to the doghouse. The annual Design for Dogs event returns on February 20, 2026, bringing together architects, interior designers, and home builders to craft imaginative custom shelters that will be auctioned to benefit the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Hosted at Facings of America‘s showroom, the event transforms into a gallery of one-of-a-kind doghouse designs.

Eleven teams have been commissioned to build and donate custom homes for pups, each competing for the coveted “Best in Show” title while raising critical funds. Proceeds from the silent auction support AAWL’s life-saving programs, helping the state’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter provide second chances to more than 4,000 cats and dogs each year.

Funds raised contribute to rural rescue efforts, a low-cost community veterinary clinic, dog training, and adoption support resources that strengthen the bond between pets and their families. Guests are invited to stroll the showroom, admire the craftsmanship, and bid on their favorite creations throughout the evening.

The festivities will be hosted by radio personality Karen Dalessandro of 100.7 KSLX and include music, a mystery box wall, and the chance to meet adoptable dogs. Each ticket includes a voucher redeemable for two drinks, adding a celebratory touch to an event centered on giving back. Since its launch in 2015, Design for Dogs has grown into a signature dog-centric architectural showcase, highlighting the talents of local creatives while rallying the community around animal welfare.

This year’s event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Facings of America showroom in Scottsdale. General admission tickets are priced at $69, with proceeds directly supporting AAWL’s ongoing mission to protect and care for vulnerable animals across the Valley. Learn more at designfordogs.org.
