It’s not just an energy drink. It’s an Elixir.

Brian Parker, MD, is a trained internal medicine physician in Arizona and the creator and founder of Elixir, an energy drink that’s actually good for you. Parker was in the thick of his first year of residency working in the ICU, which meant long shifts that left him exhausted. He realized he was taking care of others’ health but not his own.

“I was trying all the different caffeine sources to make up for the natural sleep deprivation and stress, and just didn’t find anything that was really doing the trick,” Dr. Parker said.

That is how Elixir was born. It was carefully designed to give you a caffeine boost with none of the jitters or crashes that can come with other energy drinks. It contains 140 mg of caffeine and 140 mg of L-theanine for smooth energy that lasts longer than caffeine by itself.

Additionally, Dr. Parker wanted to create an everyday beverage with everything you need, all in one. He incorporated prebiotic fiber for the gut, collagen and hyaluronic acid for the skin and joints, electrolytes Mg + K for hydration, and an immune-boosting cocktail of zinc, 1000 IU of Vitamin D, and 100 percent of the daily recommended vitamin C.

“I get to use all this medical knowledge I have to create a product that I feel good about drinking myself, about giving it to friends and families, and putting it on the market,” Dr. Parker said.

Dr. Parker has always been passionate about medicine, specifically metabolic health, diabetes, metabolism, and energy. That is one reason he made sure Elixir has zero sugar, with the primary sweetener being allulose, a natural sweetener with no glycemic effects. Even though medicine is his passion and calling, entrepreneurship is his favorite hobby.

“It has been so exciting for me to bring health and entrepreneurship together this way,” Dr. Parker said. “I am a physician who has formulated this drink out of a personal need, and I feel confident in the ingredients.”

Before the drink was perfected into what it is today, there were over 60iterations in the testing phase to see what people liked and didn’t like. This drink was specifically formulated for daily performances and support during recovery. Dr. Parker was born and raised in Mesa, and knew it was the place he wanted to launch his idea. The Elixir logo is also a Phoenix, paying homage to his Arizona roots.

Parker plans to expand in the future, with goals of curating more flavors and eventually opening production warehouses in other states. For more information, visit totalelixir.com.
