Condé Nast Traveler has named the 23 best places in the U.S. to travel to this year, which include long-standing favorites that attract visitors time and time again, plus treasured spots that are beginning to earn a wider recognition among tourists for their sights and splendors.
Making the list of top U.S. travel destinations for the new year is the Phoenix Metro area, which offers plenty of scenic spots and tourist attractions across the city of Scottsdale and the vibrant desert towns of East Valley, Ariz.
Bordered by Phoenix to the west and the McDowell Mountains to the east, Scottsdale offers a diverse selection of things to do and see in the beautiful Sonoran Desert with miles of hiking trails and access to desert terrain. Its urban scene is home to some of the nation’s finest dining, shopping, resort and spa and real estate destinations which makes it a favorite spot for bachelor/ette parties, golf trips, sun-seeking vacations and luxurious experiences.
Cities east of Phoenix, like Gilbert, Chandler and Mesa, are also rising to be popular destinations for food and beverage. Visitors and locals alike have an array of restaurants and eateries at their fingertips that are creatively bringing the tastes of different cultures and cuisine to the growing metro area.
