Are you ready for some football–and for raising funds for a worthy cause while dining locally? In the spirit of Super Bowl XLIX, Taste of the NFL is enlisting 49 local restaurants to participate in the Kick Hunger Challenge to raise funds and compete for a chance to be part of the Taste of the NFL action.
From Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, the 49 restaurants are asked to build their own promotion in hopes of raising money for Valley food banks: St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and Vista del Camino Food Bank. For instance, participating Kick Hunger Challenge participants can donate a percentage of sales from the duration of the promotion, donate sales from a particular menu item, host a designated Kick Hunger night, and more. Taste of the NFL will also work to promote participating Kick Hunger Challenge restaurants, as well.
The five restaurants that raise the most money during promotion will be invited to participate in the “Flavors of the Valley” area at the Taste of the NFL’s Party with a Purpose. The star-studded culinary event held at WestWorld of Scottsdale on the eve of Super Bowl XLIX (Saturday, Jan. 31). Party with a Purpose brings together exceptional cuisine, prominent chefs from around the country, NFL players, coaches, sports legends and more to support the fight against hunger.
