Sunday Events

I know, I know. It’s only Tuesday. However, it’s never too early to start planning your weekend–especially one jam-packed with food events. Here are two events going down this Sunday:

Fan of gumbo and jambalaya? Or perhaps you just want to benefit a worthy cause? Make your way to the Lath House Pavilion in Downtown Phoenix on Sunday for the second annual Great Cajun Cook-Off. From 1 to 4p, sample the tasty goods from professional and amateur chefs and give to the New Orleans Habitat for Humanity and the Joel Monte West Scholarship Club. Purchase tickets and get more information at

Celebrate Festa di Maiale, or Feast of the Pig, at Sassi. Enjoy pasta and antipasti dishes (as well as roasted pig and other pork dishes, of course) from new executive chef, Peter DeRuvo, along with a side of Italian wines and live entertainment.
