Feringhee Modern Indian, a fine dining destination in Chandler, has announced the appointment of Vikas Rana as its new head chef. A cornerstone of the restaurant since its inception, Chef Vikas was part of the original team that brought Feringhee’s bold and refined vision of Indian cuisine to life. After three years of dedication and culinary innovation, he officially steps into the lead role.
This transition comes with the endorsement of co-founder and Michelin-starred Chef Sujan Sarkar and founder and president Madhavi Reddy, both of whom selected Chef Vikas.
“No one understands the heart of Feringhee better than Vikas does,” Reddy said. “His creativity, discipline, and deep knowledge of tradition and innovation make him the perfect steward for what’s next.”
Chef Vikas brings heritage, technical expertise, and global perspective to his new role. Raised in a home where food was more than nourishment, he developed an early passion for culinary craft. That passion led him through prestigious kitchens across India, including The Claridges, India Habitat Centre, and PA PA YA.
His journey continued internationally, cooking at high-end events and destination weddings across Italy, Austria, and Thailand. Along the way, his talents were formally recognized with a Gold Medal for Culinary Artistry by the Association of Hospitality Professionals. As Head Chef, Vikas will continue guiding Feringhee’s mission to reimagine Indian cuisine with a deep sense of soul, technique, and cultural narrative.
Coinciding with this new chapter in leadership, Feringhee is also launching a brand-new weekend lunch menu, starting in mid-October. Designed to offer a more accessible way to experience the restaurant’s wide-ranging flavors, the lunch menu will be available Friday through Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m.
The new offerings highlight regional specialties from across India, from the spice-laden coast of Kerala to the smoky grills of Punjab and the street foods of Bengal. Dishes such as Amritsari Fried Fish, Kutchi Dabeli, Rock Shrimp Koliwada, lamb pepper fry, and Kolkata-style Kathi Rolls offer a flavorful entry point into Feringhee’s culinary world.
Whether guests are stepping away from the office, catching up over lunch, or exploring something new over the weekend, the lunch menu promises a soulful dining experience in a more relaxed setting. With dishes starting at $12, it also reflects the restaurant’s commitment to making modern Indian cuisine more accessible to the community. For more information, visit feringhee.com.
