We’re walking in a candy wonderland…
Today, Phoenix’s JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa debuts its Candy Wonderland Gingerbread Village. The resort’s Executive Pastry Chef Kaushik Chowdhury (who led his team to earn a bronze medal at the 2010 World Pastry Team Championship and Team USA at the National Pastry Team Championship) put together this giant peice of eye candy, complete with 500 pounds of gingerbread dough, 250 pounds each of dark, milk and white chocolate and 150 pounds of sugar. A moving toy choo choo train circles village. Guests can also delight in the chocolate river, fudge room, chocolate eggs, JW bars and hidden golden tickets. The 8-foot tall, 20-foot by 20-foot work of art took more than 400 hours to create and will be on display at the resort through Jan. 2.
