Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale has unveiled Desert Orchard, a café concept inspired by the spirit, resilience, and natural generosity of the Sonoran Desert. Set beneath the backdrop of Pinnacle Peak, the café is designed to be an experience rooted in the land, shaped by history, and guided by a more intentional rhythm.

The Sonoran Desert itself serves as Desert Orchard’s muse. Its stillness invites reflection, its pace encourages mindful movement, and its resilience reveals life thriving in unexpected ways. That philosophy carries through the café’s seasonal menu, which is designed to flow with guests throughout the day, whether they are beginning their morning, pausing between activities, or preparing for an afternoon exploring nearby trails.

The land surrounding the resort holds a rich past. In the 1930s, the Dumas and Schuerman families established Crescent Moon Ranch on this very site, cultivating orchards and gardens under the desert sun. What began as a working ranch evolved into a place of welcome, drawing visitors who arrived on horseback, by road, and on foot in search of refreshment and rest. Desert Orchard carries that legacy forward, offering food that is generous, seasonal, and shaped by what the land provides.

At the helm of this new culinary chapter is Executive Pastry Chef Christina Kaelberer, an award-winning talent with more than 15 years of experience leading acclaimed dessert programs and launching notable food and beverage concepts nationwide. Her career includes leadership roles at Four Seasons Hotel Fort Lauderdale, Raffles Boston, and The ‘Quin House in Boston, bringing both depth and artistry to the café’s offerings.

Desert Orchard reflects Chef Kaelberer’s signature approach, blending clean ingredients with refined technique. The menu features creations such as pistachio-lavender croissants, mole brownies with pecan caramel, blue corn madeleines with blueberry jam, and vegan chocolate crème verrines.

Every detail of the café is connected to its surroundings. Ingredients highlight desert flavors through drought-tolerant herbs, fresh fruits, and produce. Citrus and lavender weave through flaky croissants, grains and desert-grown vegetables anchor nourishing bowls, and pastries are baked fresh each morning. The menu is designed to travel well, taste fresh, and capture the essence of the Sonoran landscape in every bite.
