Jessica Prather, Co-Founder of Cactus Blossom Financial, is passionate about helping business owners feel clear, confident, and supported with their finances.
Cactus Blossom Financial works with small to mid-sized businesses to take the stress out of bookkeeping and taxes. The company provides monthly bookkeeping, QuickBooks Online setup and cleanup, payroll support, fractional CFO-level services, and sales tax filings, along with tax preparation and ongoing tax strategy. The goal is to give you reliable, organized financials and the insight you need to make strong, informed decisions.
“I’m especially focused on creating simple, dependable systems behind the scenes so everything runs smoothly. I believe your financials should feel approachable – not overwhelming – and that you should always know where your business stands,” Prather said. “More than anything, I care about building relationships and being a steady, trusted partner as clients grow.”
AZF: What is your “life motto”?
I absolutely LOVE the “Man in the Arena” quote by Theodore Roosevelt. I became familiar with it in Brene Brown’s book “Daring Greatly”. The quote is about living a bold life, and even if he fails, at least he fails daring greatly. I love that. I want to live my life boldly and courageously.
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path for you?
No, actually. I was totally fine supporting my husband in real estate and handling his financials. And then I went to Unleash the Power Within by Tony Robbins in 2023 and something in me flipped a switch. I decided I wanted to add value in other businesses as I have in my husband’s. I convinced my high school bestie to do it with me, officially launched in the fall of 2024, and here we are!
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
When those around me are also ambitious and bold. It lights me up and I feel like I can do anything.
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
Oh man! Our team is awesome. We talk every week about our core values and the vision for our business. That keeps me grounded.
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday.
Real Housewives and an old-fashioned. Okay, maybe two old-fashioneds.
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
Just do it. You’ll figure it out as you go. Add value to your clients, stay hungry, and always be learning. If you do that, you’ll make millions.
AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
The wonderful business owners we get to meet and help. They often come to me anxious and stressed about their finances. It’s so rewarding to be able to partner with business owners and help them gain financial confidence.
