Chic Cool Weather Looks

After a few days on location in the brisk San Diego air I find myself staring at my suitcase trying to devise a cozy outfit that will keep me snuggly warm without looking a fright.
Usually my suitcase consists of lots of thin layering pieces and somewhat functional shoes that will work whether we are shooting indoors or out. But hey a girl still wants to look cute while she’s fussing over others instead of resembling the Michelin man.

I have never been an Uggs girl simply due to my short stature and ample sized tootsies (okay so an 8 is not that big…)But last year I broke down and purchased the legendary boots known for their ultra warmth still there is a time and place for them and I rarely find the time or place.. So I find myself leaning towards the slightly chic Tory Burch fur-lined duck boots to keep me toasty. I also love the iconic Sperry “shearwaters” to get the job done and look adorable. If outdoor drudging is not a concern the faux sherling booties from Colin Stewart at Victoria Secret are urban and sexy but will still keep you feeling comfy.

For absolute comfort and warmth I love a good cashmere (investment) sweater and the wrap version by Christopher Fischer is the ultimate layering piece. www.christopherfischer.com

Boden's Corduroy Trench

On gray blustery days a cheery colorful coat is a great option and Boden’s corduroy trench is a the epitome of mod- cool. Though I normally would shun a sunny yellow I can’t resist this one. www.bodenusa.com
Or check out the Melton Coat by BCX at Macy it’s ridiculously affordable and just wreaks of chic.

Once you have your coat be sure to pick up a ever sophisticated pair of gloves to top off your ensemble. Kate Spade did the most lovely metallic leather pair this season called “Broome Street Metallic Bow” that works with almost everything. And being an over the top fan of Club Monaco I can not pass up the motor-cross chic look of the “Julie” gloves. For locations log onto www.clubmonaco.com Though there are no AZ locations the holidays are the perfect time to have the store ship them.
