Chanel took its cruise 2015 show to the mystical manmade desert isles of Dubai.
The collection, which featured flowing silhouettes and metallic fabrics, evoked the bohemian glamour of the ‘70s with traditional Middle Eastern style.
Models donned layered tunics over loose-fitted pants and billowy cardigans over dresses. Intricate embroideries and patterns were inspired by traditional Middle Eastern design. For instance, designer Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by 11th– and 12th– century Arabic paving stones and tiles and wove keffiyehlike patterns into Chanel’s signature tweeds for a one-of-a-kind look.
A deep charcoal smokey eye paired well with pearls and diamonds – like a sickle-moon stunner – that bedecked va-va-voom hair inspired by ’60s American actress and model Marisa Berenson.
Celebs like Freida Pinto, Dakota Fanning and Tilda Swinton made front row appearances, all dressed in Chanel, naturally.
