The Grill at the Fairmont Scottsdale

The Grill at the Fairmont Scottsdale has always been one of my favorite Valley steakhouses, and after giving its new menu a go last night, I can say that I am still a big fan. While The Grill’s emphasis has always been on top-notch steaks, it is now paying equal attention to its seafood selections, which are flown in daily. The charred calamari salad and trio of lobster were delicious–as was the NY Strip (of course). For dessert, the warm cherry-apple cobbler was the ultimate comfort food, especially on a cool autumn evening.

The Grill is now also offering a sweet midweek deal: Prime & Wine Wednesdays. Basically, for about $40, diners can indulge in a three-course prix fixe menu  (including a fresh farmer’s salad, a prime rib of beef with a baked potato and a molten German chocolate cake with coconut sorbet) and a glass of wine. www.fairmont.com/scottsdale.
