A typical day in my life includes…
The best part about my job is that it is anything but typical! My day usually starts around 6 a.m. with a little yoga, lots of coffee, and a mountain of emails. Then 9 o’clock rolls around and my day really gets rolling. Some days I get to scout locations for a photo shoot with my photographer and work on shot lists. Other days I’ll kick things off with a breakfast meeting to brainstorm content for LaurenKelp.com with a new brand or a fun collaboration. The content of the day varies, but my passion for what I do only grows. It is so important to find that thing that ignites you and run after it.

My favorite thing about Arizona…
the landscape. Growing up in Chicago you get really used to tall building and city parks, but Phoenix is a totally different story. The flora here is unbelievable! When the sun sets and the sky backlights the mountains and turns everything various shades of violet you can’t think of living anywhere else.

I have been starting my mornings off with Vance Joy recently. Once things start to pick up & I get in a groove, it’s Beyoncé all the way. Nothing like a little “Run the World” to make you feel like you’re a rock star.

that is a tough one. It might be a tie between Martha Stewart and Frida Kahlo. If it was Martha, I would order a gorgeous seasonal salad with a glass of white wine and some macaroons for desert. With Frida, I would order stuffed poblano peppers with a Paloma and some coconut stuffed limes for an afternoon treat.

I’m inspired by…
entrepreneurs. Starting your own business is terrifying and I am always so inspired, encouraged, and impressed by people who have put it all on the line and said “yep, this is my passion and I am going to run with it.” Think about it, it’s incredible.
The one person who motivates me is…
my husband, without a doubt. He is so selfless and servant hearted, it’s unbelievable. He encourages me to be a better person, to live above reproach, and to be gracious even in the face of defeat. I totally lucked out with him.

mosquitos. They are just the absolute worst! Nothing ruins a great evening like being bit mercilessly at the ankles.

traveling and exploring someplace totally new & foreign!
My first job was…
at a French Bakery. I had to get written permission from my school and I got fired for describing this gorgeous chocolate ganache cake as a giant Oreo. To be fair, the gal bought three.
My favorite escape…
Martha’s Vineyard. We have a summer home that has been in the family for generations & it is the ultimate get away. There isn’t a lot of cell service up there so you are forced to unplug and be still.
My life…
is full of fun. It feels amazing to wake up every morning and get to work with a team of incredible creatives on projects that we love. LaurenKelp.com has brought to many people together, has been a platform for some really fun projects and collaborations, and I am so excited for what’s ahead. It’s humbling that I get to be a part of something so fun.
I’m currently working on…
putting a book proposal together! It is the most exciting and terrifying thing I have ever done and if I talk about it too much I get really overwhelmed and procrastinate for at least a week.
