Over-the-Knee Boots

I cannot stop thinking about thigh-high boots. They’re definitely a huge trend for fall 2009 and were seen all over the fall runways. Whether you want some in suede, leather, flat or with a great big stiletto, there’s a style to suit pretty much everyone.

Now, the thigh-high boots I’m lusting after are heeled. But, I probably won’t buy them. Unless you’re 5’10” and 110 pounds, I fear the Pretty Woman effect will take over. So it’s either some barely over-the-knee heeled boots or flat thigh-highs for us shorter girls. You can also rock thigh-high socks with heels if you really want the thigh-high heeled look without looking  too…risque. But what there undoubtedly is are plenty of options for everyone to embrace the trend, even the most hesitant of women. Here are some of my current favorites.

These Christian Louboutin black leather thigh-high boots are sexy, sexy, sexy. The heel is a nice 5″ and it’s made of stretch leather to keep the boot shaft from riding down. This is the kind of shoe I keep fantasizing about but probably won’t actually wear. $2,185. Saks Fifth Avenue.

sergio_rossi_otk_boot

This Sergio Rossi over-the-knee boot is a lot less aggressive than the pair above but still totally sexy. Since they come up right over-the-knee but not completely up the thigh, it’s a look shorter girls can pull off too. Plus, the higher the boot rises the higher your skirt or dress will be rising as well so this is a nice height for anyone not comfortable sporting a super mini dress or miniskirt. $1,495. Neiman Marcus.

I am so into this boot. It’s so cute, so casual and I could see myself in these all fall long. The buckle adds a nice sporty touch and it’s a good example how this boot can be a bit more laid-back too. $598. Neiman Marcus.

giuseppe_zanotti2

I love a good gray boot for fall and these Giuseppe Zanotti over-the-knee croc-embossed boots are really special. I heart. $1,225. Neiman Marcus.

A pair of flat thigh-high boots is a total must this fall. Tucked into skinny jeans they are super cute. These Stuart Weitzman black leather thigh high boots are $650. Stuart Weitzman.

prada_otk_riding_boot

This Prada over-the-knee riding boot is a cute look tucked into jeans as well. $1,300. Neiman Marcus.

christian_louboutin_button_up

I’m not sure whether I love these or hate these, but these Christian Louboutin button-up thigh-high boots are definitely unique. With these I would absolutely say, wear them if you’re a taller girl. $1,995. Neiman Marcus.

  1. i would pay a lot of money to be able to wear boots like this – onlmy short little legs, they woudl look ridiculous. oh to long long, lean legs. like i would pay a few years salary for sure…

  2. Marlene,

Thanks so much for posting this!! Thigh high boots are fantastic and it is about time we see a whole season of them with rounded toes instead of those witchy pointed elf-like toes we have been seeing for the past 10 years. Honestly, as a guy, I can say that that there is nothing more alluring than thigh high boots. Any woman who walks into a room with those on is going to get a instant attention from the crowd. They are both sexy and classy at the same time. The Prada boots are absolutely gorgeous!!! Hooray for Fall 2009!!!

  3. Marlene – I just don’t think I can pull these off. What are your thoughts on sporting boots from last season? Are they totally out??
