Since midweek shopping is always a great idea to unwind from a long day, I almost just expected to stumble across something new and exciting at up-and-coming Scottsdale Quarter right on the heels of other amazing concepts (Drybar, Industrie Denim, etc.).
Walking along South Street adjacent to the Nike Store off 72nd Place at Scottsdale Quarter, I discovered two unique side-by-side concept shops that grabbed my attention from across the street: minibar.ber.shop, a dynamic new men’s barbering experience, and Kitty, a girly gift boutique.
With a comfortable, modernized atmosphere, minibar.ber.shop boasts ‘$20 haircuts and $2 beers.’ The vintage-inspired shop is divided into three parts as a place for men to groom, shop, drink and eat. Only top-of-the-line products are employed, such as Malin and Goetz, the Italian label Proraso and Mason Pearson, which are all available for purchase. The barbershop, which doubles as an amazing retail store, isn’t just limited to hair products; customers can find unique items such as fun mustache candies, stationery, books and more, endlessly stacked on long rectilinear tables (*note to self: these make great gift ideas alone).
The back of the shop houses an exclusive V.I.P. room equipped with HD TV hosting Netflix and a separate sound system that can be reserved for $25 per half hour. An iMac and iPad are also available for customer use.
Wander over to the minibar next door, where exquisite food is catered by the Valley-renowned Vincent’s on Camelback serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. A full range of beer, wine, champagne, sake and port is available (did I mention $2 beers?). The lemon ginger sokatini is recommended. Customers getting coifed may order bottle service and food freshly grilled on a panini press.
All this good stuff isn’t just for the boys, ladies can enjoy a specialty exfoliation treatment, refreshments at the minibar and splurge at Kitty, where a free round of drinks at minibar.ber.shop is a complementary treat if you spend $100 at this posh boutique while your gifts are being personally wrapped.
Check out minibar.ber.shop and get your picture on the “bar flies” wall (past bar fly hall-markers have included first beer ordered in chair and V.I.P. room).
I’m loving all the new concept shops popping up at the lively Scottsdale Quarter. Where’s your favorite place to shop and get pampered?
