Although we strive for that perfect body– whether for our man, our job or even just to mimic the slender gals in the fashion mags– we need to take a minute and appreciate our God-given bods, just the way they are!
In celebration of October’s National Love Your Body Day, Express MiE Fitness & Beauty, the ladies-only dance fitness studio in Tempe, is hosting a “Love Your Body Now” workshop and photo shoot with special guest speaker Amber Krzys. Krzys is the founder of the Body heART Campaign, whose mission is to empower women to embrace their natural beauty.
Christie Simmons, owner of Express MiE, says the workshop will, “give women a boost in learning to accept and love their body exactly as is it now, which I think we could all use.” The two part event will start on Saturday, Oct. 9 with the workshop from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Krzys will work with participants on their struggles with body image, meeting and understanding their bodies’ needs, finding appreciation for their bodies and ways they can continue to take action to love their own beauty.
Gals who attend this ‘loving’ workshop have the opportunity to do a free, thirty minute private shoot with Krzys on Sunday Oct. 10 (space is limited). Krzys will draw hearts on the faces and favorite body parts of participant and create beautiful black and white prints. Participants in the photo shoot will get copies of two shots once they are completed.
Women who are interested can register for the workshop and photo shoot with Express MiE at www.expressmie.com or by calling Express Mie at 480.626.6973. The cost is $99 by Sept. 25, and $125 thereafter.
Express MiE is located in Tempe on the Southwest corner of McClintock and Guadalupe. The studio is a hidden gem, tucked away behind Changing Hands Bookstore, directly west of Trader Joe’s.
