It is not hard to come by fabulous outdoor dining in Old Town Scottsdale. Still, we get just as excited when another restaurant boasting a sweet patio opens in the area, as was the case with Bottled Blonde Pizzeria + Beer Garden, which made its debut in late January. (Bottled Blonde is from Evening Entertainment Group, which also owns The Mint, RnR, Hi Fi Kitchen & Cocktail and Sandbar Mexican Grill.)
Bottled Blonde boasts super-cool indoor/outdoor dining, with a bar at the center of the restaurant which is surrounded by tables (some of which are street-front) and comfy lounge areas. TVs, contemporary furniture, warm woods and industrial touches fill the space. The restaurant is surely casual, perfect for a fun Saturday night with friends or a informal after-work bite and beer. As you might have guessed, Bottled Blonde has a long selection of local, domestic and imported brews on its beer menu, as well as several tempting cocktails (cilantro mule, anyone?) and a short wine selection that is available by the glass and bottle.
Pizzas, pasta, salads, sandwiches and some really delish starters round out the menu at Bottled Blonde. For apps, there is plenty of goodness to choose from: the grilled broccolini, fresh, healthy and way more yummy than you might think; caprese mac & cheese, just as dangerous as it sounds; and Red Bird chicken legs that are flavored with Calabrian chili honey, a little heat, a little sweet and a lot delicious.
If you’re craving something hearty, you can’t go wrong with the spaghetti and house-made pork/veal meatballs. Though traditional, the dish is super-satisfying and comforting–exactly what you want from a pasta plate. The pizza, though, is the star entree at Bottled Blonde. The crust is the perfect balance of crispy (just a touch of char), airy and chewy, and there is sure to be a selection to please just about any palate, including a customary margherita; the Salsiccia, with spicy Italian sausage and picked onions; and even a veggie-packed Deep V, to name a few.
For dessert, have you ever heard a more tasty description: dark chocolate cake with Nutella whipped cream? www.bottledblondeaz.com.
