Best Sweet Corn Dishes in Phoenix

Summer is full of amazing in-season eats–with sweet corn being a favorite. Here are a few Valley restaurants that do this delectable seasonal ingredient oh-so right.
Best of Our Valley winner: Superstition Farm’s Udder Delights ice cream shop in Mesa is known for its unique (and mightly tasty) flavors, including sweet potato, sticky buns, avocado and oodles more. One of our faves: the sweet corn ice cream (there are large chunks of corn throughout the ice cream), topped with crunchy kernels of popcorn. Kids and grownups alike will gobble this up.  www.superstitionfarmtours.com.
Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails at Phoenix’s Hotel Palomar proves that sweet corn doesn’t just have to stay on the dinner menu–it makes an amazing dessert, too. Blue Hound’s sweet corn shake is essentially summertime in a glass, complete with a swirl of blueberry puree and a hearty dollop of tortilla cream, which nicely balances the sweetness of the shake. www.bluehoundkitchen.com.
The just-opened Joyride Taco House in Downtown Gilbert dishes up incredible a la carte tacos, divine aqua frescas and one of the tastiest corn dishes you’ll ever sink your teeth into. The Mexican street corn is spiced to perfection and coated with creamy cheese. Though a single side order is suitable for two diners, you might not want to share. www.joyridetacohouse.com.
Fresh from the robata grill, Roka Akor’s sweet corn with shiso lime butter is utterly delicious and a decadent take on the traditional picnic food. It makes the perfect side to any of the Scottsdale eatery’s meat or seafood dishes. www.rokaakor.com.
