Sauvage Bottle Shop, located in downtown Phoenix’s lively Churchill courtyard, is among the best wine shops in the nation, according to wine, drink and food industry pros that rated the best wine and spirits stores for Wine Enthusiast.

The beloved bottle shop, known for its natural wines, personalized service and quaint environment, specifically made the cut for The Best Wine Shops in the Southwest and Southeast. Among the list’s eight top curators, Sauvage is the only one to represent the Southwest region.

“This is my go-to, and was our wedding weekend hotspot,” sommelier and beverage educator Jasmine Senaveratna told Wine Enthusiast. “It’s a natural wine shop within the Churchill, a mixed-use community space, and you can buy bottles and sip in the courtyard or grab and go. [Sauvage Bottle Shop owner] Chris Lingua curates bottles for fans of, and newcomers to, natural wine, which I appreciate. He always has something new, and good sparkling, to boot.”

Meaning “wild” or “natural” in French, Sauvage lives out its name’s meaning. After getting inspiration for the shop’s concept during a trip to France in 2017, Lingua opened the Arizona hole-in-the-wall to give customers a unique, elevated experience.

Sauvage sources 200 + rotating wine selections as well as a curated selection of artisanal Mezcals, Amari, organic Port and digestifs. Most selections range from $20–$60 and are available in shop as well as online.

The shop also offers a monthly bottle subscription service called “The Wine Well,” which features rotating picks and exclusive bottles that aren’t available anywhere else in Arizona.
