North Phoenix is getting a fresh dose of energy with the arrival of The Bar, which officially opened its newest location on March 31 in the Dove Valley area. Known for its playful atmosphere, indulgent menu, and late-night appeal, the popular concept is expanding beyond its Arcadia and Uptown roots to bring its signature vibe to a new corner of the Valley.
Situated in the Pointe 17 Shopping Center, the nearly 2,000-square-foot space delivers exactly what fans have come to expect: a high-energy, slightly nostalgic setting that leans into late-’90s and early-2000s culture. Inside, the design channels a “swaggy” dive-bar aesthetic, while a spacious outdoor patio offers guests space to spread out, socialize, and soak up the atmosphere.
“The Bar is the neighborhood place where you can come with your friends, your co-workers and your significant other for a great meal, amazing drinks, incredible specials and a lot of fun,” said Owner Frank Vairo. “We want The Bar to be a place where everyone feels welcome and everyone leaves with a memory. We look forward to bringing that energy to the Dove Valley neighborhood.”

Each night offers something a little different, from karaoke and bingo to DJs spinning late into the night on weekends. It’s a place designed for both casual drop-ins and full-on nights out, with a steady rotation of specials like $1 wing nights helping keep things fresh and affordable.
Speaking of wings, they’re one of the biggest draws on the menu, known for bold flavors with names as memorable as their taste, such as the “John Blaze Honey Hot.” The food lineup doesn’t stop there. Guests can dig into a variety of shareable favorites like potato skins, cheese curds, and beer-battered onion rings, alongside burgers, wraps, salads, and sweets.
Then there are the “Glizzies,” a playful take on gourmet hot dogs. From the classic ‘Merican Dog to the fully loaded Sonoran Dog, these over-the-top creations satisfy serious cravings. For groups, the Glizzy Fiveplay Tower turns dining into a full experience, complete with shareable portions.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Arturo Garino Jr., who also heads up Nook Kitchen. Day-to-day operations are overseen by partner and regional manager Jenna Pierides, helping ensure the new location delivers the same consistency and energy as its sister spots. With its mix of comfort food, creative drinks, and high-energy entertainment, it’s poised to become a new neighborhood favorite. Learn more at thebarphx.com.
